Information We Collect

Our application fetches publicly available trending data from Google Trends. To attempt to default the country selection to a relevant region, the application fetches a generic Google Trends RSS feed (`https://trends.google.com/trending/rss`) via an internal API route. This feed sometimes contains a 'geo' parameter in its links (e.g., `?geo=XX`), which is then used by our server to suggest an initial country for trend display. This process does not involve sending your IP address to any third-party IP geolocation service. We rely on the geo-information provided within Google's own RSS feed.

We do not require user registration, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information. The country selection you make is used to fetch relevant trends for that session and is not persistently stored with any personal identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

The country code derived from the generic Google Trends RSS feed, or the country code you explicitly select, is used solely to provide a more relevant user experience by displaying trending topics for that specific region.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Our application uses Google Trends for fetching trending data. Google Trends has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review it. We use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, which also has its own privacy policy.

Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date in the footer and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
